Following a tough financial season last year I have spend the last 9 months looking at what we do and why we do it. I have spoken to dozens of Members and asked, "What do you want from your Club?"
My objectives are simply to provide accessible, enjoyable and affordable rugby for our community. This means keeping down membership fees & bar prices and looking at how we can provide a social hub that you want.
The pitch improvement loan repayments have put a pressure on the Club for the next 2 years. This has meant we are unable to continue to meet the cost of a paid coach in 20/21.
The Club ran successfully for over 40 years with volunteer coaches and it is this model we will adopt in 20/21. A coaching team is being gathered now to enable specialists to support core skill areas and fitness next season.
The social life of the Club is the measure of the commitment to the Club and our commitment to the members. This year we have prioritised getting teams on the park and the nature of a fragmented season has made socials difficult to get going.
Next season there will be a range of fixed social events in the Club Calendar. Members are being surveyed now so that we know what you want. It is hoped giving more notice will allow us to run some great evenings.
Next year we will have a Club Dinner and if there is enough interest - we will be running a tour.
Its important to complete the surveys please so we know what you want. The Awards Evening on 11th April is also the time for players to raise their suggestions to move us forward.
